Community Guidelines

Last updated: April 27, 2026

Who these apply to

VoxiNow is a language-exchange platform where members talk to each other in real time and exchange recorded feedback. These Guidelines apply to everyone using the app — calls, chats, recordings, feedback, flashcards, profile content, and anything else you contribute.

By using VoxiNow you agree to follow these Guidelines and our Terms of Service.

What's not allowed

The following are prohibited everywhere on VoxiNow. We don't tolerate them in calls, in chat, in recordings, in flashcards, or in any other part of the app.

Harassment and hate

  • Threats, intimidation, doxxing, or stalking other members
  • Hate speech and slurs targeting people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or serious illness
  • Repeated unwanted contact after someone has asked you to stop

Sexual content

  • Sexually explicit audio, text, or images
  • Solicitation, sexual propositions, or sexual roleplay
  • Any sexual content involving minors will be reported to NCMEC and the relevant authorities and result in a permanent ban

Violence and self-harm

  • Threats of violence or content that glorifies real-world violence
  • Content promoting self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders

Illegal activity

  • Sale or promotion of illegal drugs, weapons, or stolen goods
  • Fraud, scams, phishing, or impersonation
  • Sharing copyrighted material without permission

Spam and abuse of the platform

  • Mass-messaging, link spam, or commercial advertising
  • Creating multiple accounts to evade blocks or moderation
  • Trying to break or exploit the service (e.g. bots, scraping)

Misuse of others' content

  • Recording, screen-capturing, or re-distributing another member's audio, chat, or feedback outside the app without their explicit consent
  • Sharing personal information about others without their consent

How to report or block

We rely on our members to flag bad behaviour. The fastest path is inside the app — every interaction with another member has a report and block affordance:

  • During or after a call: tap the menu in the call screen or the rating sheet → Report partner. You'll be asked for a category and an optional note.
  • In chat: open a conversation → menu → Block or Report. Blocking a user removes them from your matchmaking queue and prevents new messages.
  • On a recording or feedback: tap the menu on the item → Report.

You can also email abuse@voxinow.com for anything that doesn't fit those flows, or if you can't access the app for any reason.

How moderation works

When you submit a report we acknowledge it automatically and queue it for review. For the most serious categories — sexual content involving minors, threats of violence, doxxing — we aim to act within 24 hours. For other categories we aim to act within 72 hours, and faster when a single user is the subject of multiple reports.

Depending on what we find, we may:

  • Hide or remove the offending content
  • Issue a warning to the reported user
  • Temporarily suspend the reported account
  • Permanently ban the reported account
  • Refer the matter to law enforcement when legally required

Repeated abuse from the same account, or attempts to evade a ban with new accounts, results in a permanent ban across the platform.

If you've been reported

We will tell you if your account has been actioned and what the reason was. If you believe a moderation decision was a mistake, you can appeal by replying to the email we send you, or by writing to abuse@voxinow.com.

Changes to these Guidelines

We update these Guidelines from time to time as the product evolves. When we make a substantive change we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or by email.
